Where have I been?

Posted by realitypod on June 2, 2010

Hi All,   I am soooo sorry for not updating my site, I have been locked away in the studio developing a little film that I wrote and directed called “Blind Love”. This is the first film, I have produced from beginning to end, so seeing it come alive in the editing suit is amazing.  It should be ready to show the world in the next month or so. I am just  tweeking it, grading and adding the music to it at the moment.. So hence the reason for my lack of film reviews and not keeping you up to date with what’s happening in the film world. Give me a wee while and I will surely be back and keeping you updated. 😉

It’s been ages since I really did  some videography and video interviews, I was going through my back catalogue the other day and though it would be so cool to share with you guys some cool people I have met and filmed along the way… I have put together this little video for you to see.. I hope you like, I wanted to keep it short and sweet just to give you a taster..

The Turning Point Festival – Fashion Show

Posted by realitypod on July 4, 2009

A few months ago I filmed The Turning Point Festival and captured some of the fashion shows and went back stage at the Roundhouse in Camden, London. Some of the up and coming designers are really strong. These are some of my favorites cuts and I hope you think so too. I did film the whole event, but I only produced a little edit for Fashion TV.

You can check it out below..

I hope you enjoy!

SEO Video!

Posted by realitypod on March 11, 2009

If you are looking to get your content published on to the web, and need a browser based video publisher to help upload, managed and store your content then we are not stuck for choice. We have brightcove, ooyala,(which I use on MK Productions ), best-tv, kit digital, Narrowstep, vidzapper and a load of others.

I covered this topic a while back, but I have just come across another site, which has some really useful information. It covers the players in much more detail than I would on realitypod.tv. So I’m in a sharing mood. This site has some great information about, video SEO, covered by seomoz.org It answers questions, on “how we as content creators get ranked in search engines?”. Hmm.. great tip! & great company!

Video Publishing Platforms

Posted by realitypod on November 20, 2008

Since the revolution of broadband we have seen a massive upswing in online video. This, coupled with the price drop in consumer technology and basic editing software which is included on most operating systems, almost everyone has become a Video Director.. Well, it’s so easy to upload a clip to youtube.com and broadcast yourself to the world that I believe this makes it one of the most exciting industries to come out of the internet and it’s opened up a whole world of creativity to be enjoyed, both on the consumer side & business sites.

We have all known for a while that the way forward for business on the internet is to get much more interactive, by introducing video on their websites as the best way to engage and communicate with their customers. Business from all sectors has been a bit slow to embraced online video as a medium to communicate for reasons I will discuss in another blog!  BUT this makes me happy as the market is still very young and there is a massive opportunity!

Internet entrepreneurs from all sides of the planet have been waiting for this revolutions and the service providers have been trying to come up with a content management solution to managed, report, deliver and encode the video in one platform. This makes it much easier to manage their growing online content requirement! The best sites I have come across that achieve this are Brightcove, Move Network, Maven Networks, Narrowstep, The Plaform and Kit Digital (formally Roo). there are a few new others on the block, like Kewago, Ooyala, iolo & best TV, vimeo.com

So you see there is no shortage of businesses to help get your content online!
